What is Invest In Your Child (IIYC)?
IIYC stands for Invest in Your Child and is a fundraiser that relies on monetary donations to our school. The IIYC Campaign is a very efficient means of fundraising for the following reasons:
100% PROFIT – ALL donations go directly to meeting the needs of our school.
SAFER for our children – No door-to-door selling, collecting, or delivering.
100% TAX DEDUCTIBLE – Your donation is completely tax deductible.
When does the campaign begin?
The IIYC campaign will officially begin Tuesday, September 8, 2015 and runs through Monday, October 12, 2015. Donation flyers will be sent home in your child’s communication folder at this time.
How much should I donate?
Please donate as generously as you are able. No matter the amount, your donation will help! Don’t forget that many companies will match donations as the Bethel Elementary PTSO is a 501(c)3 charitable organization. For a list of known companies that will match your donation, click here.
Why the IIYC Campaign?
With your generosity, last year (2014-2015) the Bethel PTSO was able to:
Purchase 2 iPads carts and cases
Provide staff development days
Apps accounts for all grade levels
Classroom libraries and books for the Media Center
Kevin Blackburn, our principal, has identified the following as the major areas deserving of the funds raised for the 2015-2016 school year:
Continue to help build classroom libraries, for all teachers, to support the Readers Workshop Common Core Curriculum;
Staff development days for all grade levels;
Classroom technology needs.
No donation is too small! No matter the amount, your donation will help!
Bethel Elementary is ranked 19th out of 19 in the Cabarrus County School System in pupil funding and are currently at 44.3% free and reduced lunches. We are the closest school in the district to Title 1 without Title 1 funding. Schools must be at least 50% free and reduced lunch to receive Title 1 funding. Currently, Bethel Elementary receives $97 per pupil from the district. Title 1 schools receive $1100 per pupil. PTSO is responsible for raising additional funds to support our students.
